The renowned American magazine Film Comment, in their November/December 2014 issue, published a list of what they thought were the best 20 fiction films about real writers. At number five is Sergei Parajanov‘s masterpiece The Color of Pomegranates about Sayat Nova. The list also includes Pasolini by Abel Ferrara, as well as Capote, and also Hammett by Wim Wenders. These lists are always fun to compile and to read, but, with very few exceptions, we are not fans of biopics.
