Venice International Film Festival | La Biennale di Venezia
The legendary filmmaker Sergei Parajanov attended the 1988 Venice International Film Festival with his last completed film Ashik Kerib. Paradjanov then traveled to the New York Film Festival, NYFF, for the film’s US premiere in September (and was earlier at the Munich Film Festival in June and the Rotterdam Film Festival in February). Ashik Kerib is dedicated to Tarkovsky.
