Yuri Sayadyan (5 October 1935 – 20 December 2009) was the sound designer of The Color of Pomegranates (1969) and Hakop Hovnatanyan (1967) by the legendary filmmaker Sergei Parajanov. Yuriy Sayadyan (Յուրի Սայադյան, Юрий Саядян) was one of the two great sound gurus at Armenfilm studio along with Karen Kurdiyan, the sound designer of nearly all films by Mikhail Vartanov, including The Color of Armenian Land (1969), shot concurrently with the aforementioned The Color of Pomegranates, as well as Parajanov: The Last Spring (1992).
