Gennadi Melkonian (Геннадий Мелконян)

Gennadi Melkonian (12 August 1944  – 30 May 2002) was a close friend of Mikhail Vartanov. During the period when Vartanov was blacklisted, Melkonyan petitioned the authorities and they were able to film the now classic cult hit Mulberry. That was the first of their three collaborations.
