Rouben Mamoulian
The innovative Hollywood master Rouben Mamoulian, a key figure of the earliest sound cinema masterpieces — such as the Oscar-winning Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Love Me Tonight — had directed the iconic Greta Garbo, Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth and Barbara Stanwyck, and was the compatriot of the genius Sergei Parajanov (both were born in Tbilisi).
