Rouben Mamoulian

The innovative Hollywood master Rouben Mamoulian (8 October 1897 — 4 December 1987) a key figure of the earliest sound cinema masterpieces — including the Oscar-winning Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Love Me Tonight — directed such icons as Greta Garbo, Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth and Barbara Stanwyck, and was the compatriot of the genius filmmaker Sergei Parajanov (both were born in Tbilisi).
