Andriesh (1955), a film co-directed by Sergei Paradjanov and Yakov Bazelyan.


Sergei Parajanov's first surviving film, the 63 minute color "Andriesh", was co-directed by Yakov Bazelyan. Co-cinematographer is Suren Shahbazyan (Shakhbazyan) who later lensed Sergei Paradjanov's Armenian masterpiece "The Color of Pomegranates".

A Moldavian tale about a shepherd Andriesh who receives a gift of a magic flute which helps him in his journey to the castle of the evil sorcerer whom Andriesh must defeat.
